Summer School Robotics Classes Day 4

Day Four, we continued to teach FLL Programming in Classroom. Beyond Robotics team members taught about how to display messages or faces on an EV3 Brick, use the color, touch, and ultrasonic sensors, and basic line follower using the robots built on Day 2.

Our summer school robotics classes were aimed to inspire kids to explore STEMS, FLL (FIRST Lego League) in particular. On average, more than 20 students attended each class. Almost all the students were very engaged by hands-on building and coding the robot. They asked how to make additional movements beyond what we taught during the classes.

Through teaching, we were also motivated to learn more about robotics. Only when we do fully understand the subject can we efficiently teach others. Our interactions with students were excellent learning opportunities for ourselves: how to make an engaging and exciting presentation, how to manage a class of young students, and how to use challenges to bring in teamwork.

Day 4 is our last day of summer school on robotics. In the end, many students approached us and asked for more summer classes. Since this summer school has inspired the students and us, we would certainly do more.
